Our Hilo Preschool is conveniently located in downtown Hilo, at 317 Lehua Street. JumpStart Hilo has two spaces; a separate 2’s classroom and combined 3 and 4-year-old classroom. We are a stand alone building with a large fenced play ground; complete with play structures and gardening area. Our family style environment eases the transition and helps children feel comfortable in their learning space.

Janice Castillo has over 30 years of experience in Early Childhood Education. After earning her ECE degree from Hawaii Community College, Janice has worked in the islands, contributing to early education programs in a variety of roles since 1990. She joined JumpStart Preschool Hilo in 2010, as the Lead 3’s and 4’s Teacher. Janice is now the Program Director at JumpStart Hilo. Janice grew up on Maui and has lived her life between Maui and the Big Island. She is married to her husband, Nolan and they have two daughters together, Kylee and Kaili’i.
